Download and Installation for Windows

Step 1:

In order to download the current beta version of TextGridLab to your computer, you must simply visit the website of the TextGrid Project.

Step 2:

Now click on the link to "TextGridLab Beta" and, on the page that then appears, click on "Download" if you would like to install the software on a Windows computer.

Step 3:

Download the TextGridLab to your hard drive as a compressed ZIP file and extract the files to any directory. As portable software the TextGridLab will not modify your computer´s operating system; for example, it can also be started from a USB drive.

Step 4:

Please note that your computer must have at least Java version 1.5 installed and it must be selected as the active version in the Windows settings under "Java"

Step 5:

Now you can start TextGrid by double-clicking the textgridlab.exe file in your selected directory. Depending on your home institution, it is possible that your system may request verification of the certificate. Please select "always accept this certificate" in the dialog box.

Step 6:

You will need a TextGrid account in order to access all the functionalities of the TextGridLab. Please refer to the website where you downloaded the software for more information.
