Start of GoeGrid

 

The Goettingen Grid Ressource Centre (GoeGrid) will launch on May 13, 2008 as technical basis of a new scientific infrastructure and scientific communication landscape. This centre is a result of cooperating researchers in the framework of the German D-Grid Initiative (promoted by the Ministry of Education and research). The researchers concerned service to the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen in the field of the humanities (Goettingen State and University Library), High Energy Physics, Theoretical Physics and Bioinformatics, to the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) and to the Gesellschaft für Wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung Göttingen.

A festive lecture at this event will exemplify the international relevance and the potential of grid. Domain specific presentations will demonstrate the application areas of their discipline.
