As portable software the TextGridLab will not modify your computer´s operating system; for example, it can also be started from a USB drive.

Installation

1. Choose a download file according to your opperating system. Download the TextGridLab ZIP file to your harddisk.
2. Unzip the file at any location. As portable software the TextGridLab will not modify your computer´s operating system; for example, it can also be started from a USB drive.
3. Run the executable file "textgridlab" in the folder textgridlab.

Please make sure that the newest version of Java is installed correctly on your machine.

You may need to validate the security certificate used by TextGrid while downloading. Please choose, in a respective dialogue, "Accept permanently".

In Ubuntu 11.04 (and possibly other versions of Linux) the xulrunner 1.9 is no longer installed by default. The TextGridLab welcome screen remains blank there, and all browser components do not work. To subsequently install the package please run the command line sudo apt-get install xulrunner-1.9.2.
