Navigator - Projects and Objects

Step 1:

In "Project and User Management" you can keep track of the files that you are using. Here in the Navigator you can administer the projects and objects to which you have access.

Step 2:

The objects can therefore be understood as files and the projects as the folders in which they are saved. The effects as well as the allocation of roles, such as access authorization, are explained in a separate tutorial.

Step 3:

After opening the Navigator, all of the projects to which you have access will be displayed. By clicking on the plus sign in front of a project, all the objects inside it will be displayed.

Step 4:

Each object is tagged with a symbol next to the file name, by means of which you can recognize the file type of the object.Text files are labelled with a page, which in the case of XML files has the letters XML next to it. Image files in TextGridLab are marked with the same symbol as in Windows-Explorer, depending on the software which you have used on your computer. The symbol of the linked files of the Text-Image-Link Editor consist of a text page that is connected to a picture with a plus sign. If the TextGridLab does not recognize the file format, it will be labelled with a question mark

Step 5:

Clicking on the minus sign (above, right) will close all project folders so that no objects will be visible, only projects.

Navigator - Project Creation

Step 6:

To create a new project, first click on the "File" option, and then on "New Project...".

Step 7:

You will need to type a project name and a short description in the resulting dialog box. Both entries are required for the creation of a new project.

Step 8:

Once you click on the "Create" button, the project will be created and you will receive a reply from the TextGridRepository.

The way to import files is described in a separate tutorial.
